The Asheville Bicycle Racing Club

The Asheville Bicycle Racing Club supports all disciplines and levels of amateur racing

Members often compete in road racing, mountain biking, cyclo-cross, track and any other cycling related activities.

The Club's commitment to racing is supported by: the financial assistance we provide the racing members through the "payout system"; free uniforms we periodically provide to our riders; the organization and support of local racing events, via hosting racing members meetings; offering basic coaching services; and supporting individual team groups within the club's umbrella.

The Club provides basic coaching services to all the members through various ways:

• Training advice can be received by attending club organized group rides
• Attending Club and racing members meetings
• Asking questions on the bulletin board under the "Training Questions" sections, or
• Contacting one of our coaching affiliated sponsors at Carmichael Training Systems.

We also organize racing members meetings that focus on racing-related issues. Racing members have the opportunity to voice their opinion on varying related issues or find out what activities are planned during the upcoming season. These meetings are usually at the beginning of each season. For 2011, these meetings will be held at the Carmichael Training Center, Refer to the "Events" webpage and bulletin board for more details.

2010 Accomplishments:

• Club members of ABRC had 8 top ten finishes in State Championship races in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee
• ABRC had 46 top three finishes in road races, criteriums, and time trial events
• ABRC had 25 wins in weekend races across our area
• There was Club participation on National calendar races, the Presbyterian Invitational Criterium in Charlotte, UCI mountain bike races in New York and North Carolina, and Cyclocross events
