The Asheville Bicycle Racing Club strives to help its members achieve their personal goals in bicycle racing. Please download our club by-laws and 2007 membership contract if interested in becoming a member of one of the best cycling clubs in the South East.

Member responsibilities


  As a volunteer organization, ABRC needs the active participation of its members to make it work. ABRC members are expected to be involved in racing and/or in other support roles. This includes attending meetings, riding with the club, volunteering for race duties, mentoring beginning riders and always riding in a responsible, courteous manner. Remember: when you are wearing a club jersey, you're representing all ABRC members and our sponsors.

Coaching


  We are fortunate to have several coaches as club members. If you are ready to raise your racing to the next level, contact them and they can customize a training plan for you. ABRC members receive a discount on coaching services.

Andy Applegate at www.a2coaching.com
   Andy is the 2001 Masters National Road Race Champion in the 35+ age category. He has acquired two additional medals at Masters National Championships in the Individual Time Trial. He has been on the podium 5 times at 24-hour mountain bike races, three of which were to claim the gold. Aside from scores of podium finishes at mountain bike, road, and cyclocross events, Andy prides himself most on his race savvy and ability to put personal aspirations aside for the benefit of his team. Andy began coaching in 1997. He is an Associate of Joe Friel's Ultrafit (www.Ultrafit.com) Under his guidance, cyclists have obtained four National Championships in road and cyclocross disciplines, and a total of eight National Championship podium finishes. Andy puts a great deal of effort into helping athletes achieve their personal goals, from the beginner to the elite cyclist, and is a certified USA Cycling coach.

Richard Dunn at KEY EDGE CYCLING
  Key Edge Cycling is a coaching service operated by USA Cycling certified coach Richard Dunn that offers custom designed training programs for competitive cyclists. Richard's 33 years of cycling experience enables him to work with cyclists to design logical training programs revolving around each cyclist's lifestyle and work schedule. A former United States National Road Team member and consistent competitive international cyclist, Richard understands totally what it takes to gain the true KEY EDGE. Currently 3 coaching programs are available: Beginner, Advanced, and Elite. Additionally, COMPU-TRAINER testing is available.
With over 14 years of coaching experience Richard is in close contact with the latest coaching information through USA Cycling. He also conducts USA Cycling Southeast Regional Development Camps and Clinics for Junior and Espoirs cyclists.
