Mission Statement
The Asheville Bicycle Racing Club (ABRC) is a non-profit corporation established for the purpose of promoting amateur bicycle racing in Western North Carolina. Club members are provided with organized training rides, coaching, and financial assistance.
About ABRC
Founded in 1984, ABRC is the premier Southeastern regional racing club with over 100 members and has produced numerous state and national champions. The ABRC has supported riders who have gone on to national and international success. Members participate in all forms of competitive bicycle racing in Western North Carolina: road, mountain, cross, track and endurance events as well as the hotly contested Tuesday Night "World Championships" (our weekly sprint ride)! ABRC provides its members access to a group training environment and guidance from experienced professional coaches. ABRC also hosts one of the most competitive omniums in the Southeast, The French Broad Cycling Classic.
Duties of ABRC
- ABRC will obtain the maximum practical sponsorship. A goal of $15,000 has been established for 2009.
- ABRC will maintain the status of a registered club with the USAC and NORBA.
- ABRC will promote events in compliance with our agreement with the USAC.
- Officers of ABRC will decide on a cash pay-out based on the financial assets of the club.
